Spring Cleaning
Based on 2 Kings 5:13 “Wash, and be clean”
A short message by Rev. M.M. Dladla
Greeting in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  We have gone past the Month dedicated to men and the Month dedicated the women August, and we are now in September.  The beginning of the Spring in South Africa, and the 1st of September is commonly known as the spring day.

I have been inspired by the spring, the fresh air that it brings, the new flowers and the new look of God’s plantation to write this short message, it is not a sermon but a message.  According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, “The most common usage of spring cleaning refers to the yearly act of cleaning a house from top to bottom which would take place in the first warm days of the year typically in spring, hence the name”

As a Christian, I though of a man who had power and authority but had one problem, leprosy.  When he went to Elisha’s house he was summoned, commanded to wash and be clean.  We spring clean our houses from top to bottom preparing for the new season and once we are finished we clean our bodies but forget to spring clean our souls.  My brothers and sisters I would like us to get into this new season with our minds and soul having undergone a total spring cleaning.  We need to wash and be clean.  If after this season or life you want to go home, you want to go to heaven, you would better start now doing the spring cleaning.

It is the owner of the house who knows where the most dirt is in his or her house, so you know my friend what your weaknesses are.  You know what distracts you from focusing on your goal, which should be to live a Christ like life.  You know what your sins are, so its up to you to decide, its up to you to do the spring cleaning of your sins.  Its up to you to was and be clean.  It wasn’t easy for Naaman to go to the river Jordan and wash seven times, but when he did he was clean.  Yes, the blood of Jesus is still strong to wash your sins away, so make up your mind.

I man therefore calling upon you to visit the river Jordan, as seen by the Wesleyan singer,
Lowo mthombo wosindiso
Owavulwa ngenxa yam;
Ma uvele umpompoze
Uzihlamb’ izoono zam.
O Msindisi!
NguWe oluncedo lwam.
Yes my brother, yes my sister, there is a new river Jordan which start on the Mount Calvary and that river is Jesus Christ the Lord.  Accept Jesus Christ and you will be cleansed, you will be washed and you will be clean.  For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him may not perish but may have everlasting life.  Yes, you have to wash and be clean in order to gain access to the eternal life.

May God bless you and help you in making the correct decision about your life, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
